FEATURE: Watson and Holmes

A look at one of my favorite projects from New Paradigm Studios: Watson and Holmes. Good stuff! See more samples of the art and get your own copy of the comic on the official Kickstarter page.

Marvel Announces 2012 TV Shows at NYCC

VIDEO: At NYCC 2011 this year, the head of Marvel TV announced a bunch of new shows coming to TV soon, including a live-action Jessica Jones show on ABC, a live-action Hulk show on ABC, a Cloak and Dagger show, a Mockingbird show on ABC family, new Marvel Knights productions (like Astonishing X-Men), and a brand new Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon on Disney XD in early 2012! Here are the details.

NYCC Avengers Panel (with bonus footage talk!)

Here’s a video about the Avengers Panel I attended at New York Comic Con this year. I got to hear from several of the actors… AND watch bonus, never-before-seen footage from the film!

Also, I almost touched Tom Hiddleston (Loki)… I was backstage when he first entered the Marvel booth for a signing. He was two feet away! Very nice guy. Just thought I should, uh, share that! /bigfan

NYCC Interview with Dapper Men’s Janet Lee

At New York Comic Con this year, I had the chance to sit down with Janet Lee, illustrator for the Eisner-award-winning Dapper Men! She talked about what’s coming up in Dapper Men, her work on Marvel’s Emma adaptation, her future projects, and her process for creating every elaborate comic page. There’s even a sneak peek of next year’s work! She was such a sweetheart.

I’ll be at NYCC!

Hey, everyone! Many of you have asked if I’ll be attending New York Comic Con this weekend. The answer is yes!

Detective Elisa Maza

I’ll be wearing a Press badge, and I’ll be costumed as Detective Elisa Maza from the 90s cartoon Gargoyles. Keep an eye out for the bright red leather jacket! And if you can’t find me but want to meet up, just send me a note over Twitter @ilikecomicstoo and I can let you know where in the convention center I am at the moment.

Plus, here are some panels I will most likely be attending (and that I suggest you attend, too). See you there!

Philly Con Interview Master List

So many interviews from Wizard World’s Philadelphia Comic Con! Here’s the full collection for your convenience (and my own sanity):

  • Superman: Earth One artist Shane Davis talks about the next volume of the popular Clark Kent origin story and a secret Marvel project.
  • Prince of Power, Amazing Spider-Man, and Chaos War artist Reilly Brown shares his great experiences with Marvel and his affinity for Deadpool. Plus, a sneak peek of his own comic, Power Play!
  • Arthur Suydam gives me a lesson on what it means to be the “Zombie King,” chats about his music career, and offers his opinion on who would win in a Batman vs. Predator battle.
  • The Walking Dead’s Addy Miller tells me what it was like to be a creepy little zombie girl and hints at some future projects.
  • Amazing Spider-Man artist Humberto Ramos shows me the goods for his own comic, Fairy Quest, and gets us all excited for Marvel’s new Spider-Island arc.
  • Moon Girl’s Johnny Zito and Tony Trov explain how their partnership and comic came to be, then Johnny clarifies why he needed to order a truckload of maggots for their movie project (gross!).
  • Illustrator Dennis Calero promotes his webcomic, Devil Inside, and shares my excitement for the Cowboys and Aliens movie.
  • Don Oriolo, carrier of the Felix the Cat legacy, shows off his new line of amazing guitars and sings me a song.
  • Artist Scott Ethan Ambruson tells me about his convention plans, inspiration, and print-making process.
  • Popular online artist Ian Glaubinger lets me flip through his amazing pop culture pieces and explains the importance of convention exposure.
