Interview with Stan Lee

I had the wonderful opportunity to interview Stan Lee at the Animazing Gallery in New York City (which, by the way, is a great place, so you should definitely check it out if you’re in the neighborhood).  He talked to me about many of his upcoming projects, including his company POW! Entertainment and his collaborations with Boom Studios and Archie Comics.  It was a real honor meeting him!  Such a sweet man.

Also, if you get the chance, be sure to look up artist Jorge Burtin.  He had a number of truly amazing pixaic works (including two incredible ones of Thor and Iron Man) for sale at the gallery.  All profits went to the Stan Lee Foundation, which I thought was fantastic.  I think we should be highly supportive of artists that use their talents for such selfless causes!

What did this person expect you to ask Stan Lee?

“Stan, what is it like to be so old and understand that every moment could be your last? Have you built a legacy for yourself or become a caricature of yourself?”

While it would blow my mind to hear someone ask him that, I’m sure Lee would have just started talking about the cosmic nature of comic books and tried to get you excited about whatever projects he was working on anyway. The dude is all fun and all business- even at his ripe old age.

All in all, you gave most people what they wanted: An attractive lady comic book fan chatting up a comic book legend. I’m glad you got to meet him and it’s always cool just to see him talk because he’s an oddball and an interesting person.

I’m also going to hit that gallery the next time I’m in NYC.

Exactly! Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it. And do visit that gallery, they have some really fantastic (and expensive) pieces in there.
Also, great blog! I’ll definitely be following you. :)
